I will most likely be disappearing for a few days. We've got LOTS going on this weekend. Hannah has her dance recital/show. For me this means dress rehearsal tonight, a show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For Hannah this means being overtired for the next 4 days. ButI am sure she will be the cutest little ballerina on the stage! :)
Wish us luck and I will return with pictures as soon as I can!

The Little Things

It's the little things I miss now that I am a mother of 2.

Shaved Legs-everyday. Most mothers would be lying if they said they got to this task each and every day. On a normal day, I MIGHT have 20 minutes to shower, get dressed and brush my teeth. If I have to choose between shaving my legs or brushing my teeth, the teeth win.

Laying on the couch with a good book. Uninterrupted.

An entire room, free of toys. Even my bedroom, which is supposedly off limits, ends up with a random matchbox car or book on the floor.

There are SO MANY more. But today, these are the things I long for.

The "Binkie" Situation

Camden still has a "binkie"(pacifier)when he sleeps. He is supposed to keep the binkies in his crib until bedtime or naptime. MOST of the time we make sure he follows this rule, if he is sick he can have it if he is laying down and resting. I have made a few attempts at trying to break him of the habit, but honestly haven't put too much effort into it. Maybe it is because he is my baby, maybe it is because he just loves the thing so much or maybe it is because I want to be able to sleep at night. In any case, my goal is to get rid of it in the next few months. But right now I feel like I am doing what is right for him.

Cue... my mother. I love my mom to death, she is my best friend and we get along very well. We rarely have disagreements about things. The binkie is our one little issue. She works for a dentist, she says his teeth are going to be ruined. I say the teeth are fine, I even asked our pediatric dentist, she didn't seemed worried. But EVERY time we are at my moms for naptime she makes a comment about Cam being too big for his binkie. I ignore it as much as I can, but Lee gets angry about it. I tell him to brush it off, that we are doing what we want to do and she is not going to change our minds. But I guess I need to tell my mom to back off...but in a nice, loving way.
RRRRRrrrr...I have being confrontational! Esp. with my mom.

Am I really blogging about towels?

Yes folks, it has come to this.towel Pictures, Images and Photos

It has recently come to my attention that the bath towels in my house are disappearing...seriously, they are!

Now, our collection of bath towels is nothing if not a hodge podge of random colors, shapes and brands. We have the yellow ones that Lee and I got from our wedding registry...almost 8 years ago, the light blue ones I "splurged" on at Macy's a few years back and then the random ones we have accumulated over the years from...well, who the heck knows. They are not beautiful, they are not fancy, but they do the job.

I would say we have (had) about 12 bath towels in circulation. 4 people, one towel a day each...we could go 3 days without a load of towels being washed. Now at my last count we have 6 and yeah, if you cannot tell...IT IS REALLY BUGGING ME! I have checked the hampers and laundry baskets, i have checked under beds, in drawers, and even in the closets. Seriously, where'd they go??? I just don't get it. I even emailed Lee at work about it today,to which I get a reply of "I don't have the bath towels here at work." NO S#&T! But where are they??

Where do 6 large towels disappear to? They don't get sucked up into the washer like the missing socks, that would be impossible. My kids are not hording them in their rooms for various reason, I checked!

I know, I know, whoa is me...people have bigger problems than missing towels, I understand this. But today, for me...this is an issue.

***Oh look- JCPenney is having a sale...Buy one TOWEL, Get one FREE! Come'on kids, where heading to the mall!***

BEAUTIFUL

It was abot 50 degrees out today! It was really windy but it didn't matter, it was so nice to go out and get some fresh air! We cleared all of the ice chunks that finally melted on our driveway, it almost felt like spring for a few hours...then we turned around and saw the 2 feet of snow still surrounding us.

Now I am off to make Hannah's favorite dinner- Homemade chicken "nuggets", mashed potatoes and green beans!

Hoping for some more exciting posts later this week, last week we were all sick and it was pretty uneventful.

Lounging in our Jammies.

Today is a lazy day around our house. After a busy/sick few weeks, we are using today as a prep day for getting back into our normal routine tomorrow. Lee goes back to work, Hannah back to preschool and as for me...I need to get this house clean, organized and not looking like a tornado of toys just swept through.

It is amazing to me how much "stuff" 2 children under the age of 5 can accumulate. And its not just toys...we have about 12 pillows just hanging around, princesses, barbie, cars, hannah montana, dogs, bears, elmo-ALL in pillow form! I mean, really, do we need to have enough pillows in the house to supply the entire neighborhood?? Ok enough about pillows, lol!

So anyways, we have no big plans today...the boys are watching football with my brother Mark, Hannah is playing with her dolls and I am just enjoying the calmness of it all!

New Years Plans

Well, no big plans for us this year! Lee has been crazy at work and both kids have been sick. So...it's early to bed for the kiddos and ordering out for us. I will probably be in bed before the new year hits!
Anyone doing anything exciting? (I mean, what could be more exciting than ordering out, eating in your pj's at 8 pm?)
Happy New Year!
